This year the traditional open air exposition of old photographs deals with the longtime coexistence of the city and the rivers. Kaunas is situated on the confluence of two rivers, Nemunas and Neris; and this neighborhood has been determining the evolution of the city already for more than 600 years. The focus of the exposition is the period of the First Republic of Lithuania (1918 – 1940), when Kaunas served as provisional capital and rivers were fully integrated into social, economic and public way of life.
